Community Service |
-
Gives us a chance to give back to our community by volunteering our time.
-
We adopted a road in Gainesville and do frequent road cleanups.
-
Other community service events vary from visiting St. Francis House to Day of Difference, to collecting canned goods.
-
You earn a community service point by participating in an event.
|
Social |
-
Socials are a great part of PLHS that lets us get to know our fellow members.
-
We have two socials a month and these vary from trips to Gator City for some free food and good music to barbequeing at Lake Wauberg.
-
Attending a social will earn you a social point, which puts you that much closer to being an active member!
|
Fundraiser |
-
We have many different fundraisers throughout the year to help pay for the fun and exciting activities that we do.
-
Most of our fundraisers include raffles, lemonade stands, penny wars, and ice cream fundraisers.
-
Participating in fundraisers is an easy way to earn one point.
|
Intramurals |
-
PLHS likes to promote a health and community by participating in at least one intramural sport a semester.
-
This Fall we are playing Co-Rec flag football.
-
Players get a free point for playing and you can even earn half a point for coming out and supporting our team.

Relay for Life |
-
Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's signature activity. It offers everyone an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camp out in the O'Dome and take turns walking around the indoor track. The event starts at 6:00 PM on March 27th, 2009 and concludes at noon on March 28th, 2009.
-
This year we will be working with Phi Alpha Delta, Virgil Hawkins, and Pi Sigma Alpha to create the largest Relay for Life Pre-Law team.
-
Participants will be able to earn a point(s) for participating in this event in various ways.
|
Mock Trial |
-
Mock Trial is a great way to brush up on your oral presentation and debate skills while simultaneously getting experience in the legal profession.
-
We have in-house Mock Trials where our teams compete against each other and inter-organization competitions. Members can serve as attorneys or witnesses.
-
Participation on a Mock Trial team earns a law-related point.
|
Law-Related Opportunity |
-
Our Law Related Opportunities provide our members with knowledge in the legal professional field by enhancing their experience in it.
-
Our Law-Related opportunities vary from Court-room sit-ins, law class room sit-ins, shadowing, tours of the law school, Mock Trial, and Law in the Swamp.

Law in the Swamp |

Law in the Swamp is our flagship event in which we feature legal professionals in a round-table setting. The atmosphere provides you with intimate time to speak with, question, and network with these legal professionals from various backgrounds. Every year we get guest speakers that are judges, law professors, and local attorneys all from various fields of law.
-
This event is held in the middle of Spring semester.
-
Attendance is worth one law-related event point.
